USU win Easters in an all Sydney Final

 
 
USU 1 won the Intervarsity Debating Championship (Easters) against USU 3 in the Grand Final on Friday night.
 
Easters was held at Griffith University on 2nd – 5th April. Over 400 participants from 19 institutions across Australia attended the tournament.
 
USU 1 were Daniel Farinha, Steph White and Michael Rees
The Grand Final topic was: “That the Northern Territory should become an autonomous indigenous state.”
 
4 out of 11 USU teams qualified for the final! Unfortunately there is a 3 team cap per institution to compete at the finals, so in the end only 3 teams were eligible to progress to the finals (USU 1, 3 and 4).
 
USU had 7 out of the top 10 Best Novice Speakers including being awarded Best Novice Speaker overall (Michael Rees) Best Speaker of the tournament (Daniel Farinha).

USU 3 (Lucy Connell, Sarah Mourney and Harry Stratton) were grand-finalists
 
USU4 (Tim Asimakis, Gabrielle McClymont, and Timothy Sullivan) were quarter-finalists
