Record voters elect new USU blood - 13 May 2010

More than 6,200 voters, nearly double the 2009 turnout, poured through polling stations on campus yesterday to cast their votes for new inductees to the USU Board.

The five candidates elected were Ben Tang, James Flynn, Vivienne Moxham-Hall, Sibella Mathews, and Alistair Stephenson.

Hermann’s Bar played host to the post-election party, where candidates, supporters, current board members and interested students alike wound down from a hectic campaign period with a night of entertainment, drinks and live updates from the count.

The successful candidates will be officially inducted into Board in June and begin their duties in Semester Two.

They will replace current President and Vice President Pat Bateman and Courtney Tight, Honorary Treasurer Doug Thomspon, Bec Santos and Alex Houseman.

More details to follow.
