Healthiness is a privilege citizens in a country such as ours take for granted. WEDNESDAY 17TH

GLOBAL POVERTY PROJECT
12 30pm to 2pm @ Marquee, JFR Plaza

Poverty is not simply haves and have-nots. It’s a pervasive issue that affects every aspect of the human experience, not just how much money is in your wallet. Life below the poverty line is a constant struggle against hunger, disease, exploitation, violence and squalor. Poverty is a cycle that is difficult to understand from a Western perspective, but the Global Poverty Project is aiming to help us understand poverty and educate us on ways we can make a real difference with simple actions.
The Global Poverty Project is an Australian initiative that truly mirrors Humanitarian Week’s maxim: Alone we can make a difference, Together we can make a change.

HUMANITARIAN PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION

‘Empowerment’...what does it mean to you?

We’ll be transforming JFR Plaza into an outdoor gallery space. Check out some photos which aim to inspire while being entertained with live music (artist TBA). While you’re there, pop into Verge Gallery and take a look at some fantastic artworks from the Sydney College of the Arts Exhibition. Entry winners will be announced on the night as will the winner of the lucky door prize! Refreshments provided. Who said being humanitarian couldn’t be a little bit classy or cultured?
