The University of Sydney Union (USU) recently beat many outstanding entrants at the 2008 AMI State Awards, to take out first place in the categories of Loyalty Marketing and Relationship Marketing for its Access Benefits Program and ‘enriching the student experience’.

The Access Benefits Program was introduced by the USU to address the potentially disastrous loss of compulsory fees. With the support of the University, we have managed to rise to the challenge and the results have been exceptional. I congratulate all those involved in this program. This level of recognition is testament to the fact that USU continues to meet the needs of the campus community’, said USU President, Ruchir Punjabi.

The calibre of the national finalists is a real compliment to our program. In creating the Access program, USU has strengthened its capacity to provide co-curricular activities for students into the future,’ said Paul McJannett, CEO of the USU.

The winners in each category, plus the overall Marketing Campaign of the Year, will be announced at a Gala Dinner as part of the AMI's Annual Conference on Wednesday 22 October in Melbourne at the Hilton on the Park.
