“ The collision of the cerebral and the visceral” * * * * – The Guardian

“...stunningly vibrant pop expressionism and brilliantly evocative lyricism” – The Age

Heralding the return of one of the most innovative and intimate bands in recent history, Popfrenzy are thrilled to announce a string of Australian shows for Electrelane, their first on our shores since 2005.

Having built a cult following since forming in 1998, Electrelane are renowned for their unique treatment of pop, harmonies, Krautrock and the farfisa organ. Originally from Brighton, UK, the four piece are quite possibly the only band comfortable incorporating a cappella ensembles, Spanish sonnets and samples of a football match in their work. They’re most definitely the only band that can make it sound good – a testament to their playfulness with sound and structured experimentation.

After going on hiatus following the release of their highly acclaimed No Shouts, No Calls record, Electrelane have recently completed a string of shows as part of the 2011 European Summer festival season. Performing to awestruck crowds and pleased critics, we feel pretty lucky to be next in the receiving line.
